Our group originates from the Class of 2009, Springside School, Philadelphia, PA.   We formed the book club with the help from our Lower School librarian, Mrs. Linda Kuffler. She had a book about beginning a book club, and it said that mostly mothers started them so we came up with the idea of the daughters starting a club for a change. The reason we started this book club was so that 4th grade mothers and daughters had an opportunity to share reading and talking about books together.

Planning the book club was not hard, but we sometimes had to stay in at recess. During our planning meetinrgs we talked about book themes for each month, prepared application forms to find out who was interested and when mothers and daughters were available, and wrote a letter informing everyone of the date of the first meeting including who was participating and contact telephone numbers.
